This list is from a book published by Record Research, the company Joel Whitburn founded which packages books based on music chart data. As Whitburn says in the introduction, this is his “first research work that is entirely outside the covers of Billboard magazine.” This covers charts from Music Vendor and Record World from October 4, 1954 to April 10, 1982.
