  1. Was there not music released in 2011 or 2012? The latest song to come out that you have listed is "Fuck You" by Cee-Lo Green and that is basically what you are telling viewers of this post if you don't update it while stating in the title "...so far". Interesting that you criticize people on their posts about a lack of updating with a link to visit "your list" while you do not update your own list! Can you say "hypocrite"?

    1. In regards to your comment about my being critical of others updating their lists, I'm not sure what you are referencing. I will say that, as noted in the intro on this page, this list is an aggregate of 64 other best-of lists. If those lists don't include more recent material than this one doesn't either.

  2. Wow. This list is a very good example of what pile of rubbish music has been in the 21st century.

  4. What ever happened to music. This looks like a 12 year old's list.

    1. It is true that pop music is largely driven by the tween and teen set, though. Frankly, though, if this list had been generated by polling a classroom of 6th graders (it wasn't, as has already been indicated), that wouldn't diminish its worth - unless you don't believe youth are allowed to have opinions.

  5. There are about five good songs on this list. Today's music is horrible.

  6. I've noticed on your lists there seems to be a few more country songs then on other lists. Can you explain this?

    1. Since I tapped into multiple lists, the hope is that this has a broader scope and represents more genres.

    1. Wow. I can only respond with complete sarcasm. I commend you on your open-mindedness and willingness to recognize that everyone has different tastes and that all listeners are worthy of having their music celebrated.

  8. I'm dismayed (although not surprised) by the general negativity here. I know from reading other music blogs how common it is for people to troll and seek out opportunities to rant. My approach to making lists by aggregating multiple sources is to present lists with as much objectivity as possible. These aren't my personal favorites. However, I am capable of recognizing that my tastes are not everyone else's. It is much more interesting to celebrate all kinds of music and recognize the worth it holds for others than to off-handedly dismiss anyone who doesn't listen to the same music as me.
