Leonard Cohen is a folk-rock singer/songwriter and guitarist born 9/21/1934 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He died 11/7/2016. He also wrote the novels The Favorite Game and Beautiful Losers, six volumes of poetry, several documentaries. His album, The Songs of Leonard Cohen, ranks as one of the top 1000 of all time and Jeff Buckley’s cover of “Hallelujah” is one of the top 1000 songs of all time. He has been covered my numerous artists, as evidenced by at least three four albums – I’m Your Fan (1991), Tower of Song (1995), the soundtrack to I’m Your Fan (2006), and Here It Is (2022). Those collections alone feature Tori Amos, Peter Gabriel, Don Henley, Elton John, Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Willie Nelson, the Pixes, Iggy Pop, R.E.M., Sting, James Taylor, U2, Trisha Yearwood, and more.
