Top 50 Nu-Metal Songs

Nu-Metal:

Top 50 Songs

Nu-Metal emerged in the mid-1990s and maintained a measure of popularity through the 2000s. The genre merged heavy metal with alternative rock and hip-hop. In many ways, it was a follow-up to grunge with some songs also traversing the area of post-grunge rock.

This list was created by aggregating 15 lists focused on nu-metal songs. Those songs featured on 2 or more lists were then ranked based on overall DMDB points.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 nominees

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

2022 Nominees

On February 2, 2022, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced 17 nominees for the class of 2022. The Hall of Fame was established in 1983 and inducted its first class in 1986. The site says, “to be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician)…the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence.” Among considerations are the artist’s influence on other artists, length and depth of career, body of work, and innovation and superiority in style and technique.

The nominees are sent to more than 1000 music experts who then vote on who should be inducted. Reports differ on whether only those nominees on more than 50% of the ballots are inducted or if just the top vote getters (no set number) are inducted. Inductees will be decided in May and inducted in the fall.

Check out Dave’s Music Database podcast: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Nominees. Premiere: February 9, 2022 at 7pm CST. Check out new episodes every Tuesday.
