Overview:The Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. Only singer Anthony Kiedes and bassist Flea have been a part of every incarnation of the band, although drummer Chad Smith has been with the band since 1988. The group recorded its first four albums with EMI before moving to Warner Bros. Records where their first album, 1991’s Blood Sugar Sex Magik, would become a career pinnacle, launching the band into a string of multi-platinum, top-ten albums.
