About the Album

This was an archival collection released in 1985. Two of the songs (“Stephanie Says” and “Temptation Inside Your Heart”) were recorded in February 1968. You can read more about them on the page for the 1969 The Velvet Underground album.

The rest of the cuts from VU were recorded between that album and Loaded and are detailed on this page. Also included are additional songs from that era that were initially featured on the 1986 archival set Another View and/or the 1995 box set Peel Slowly and See.
