It definitely had 23 Weeks at No.1 & Not 22 Weeks. It did it in 7 'Runs' at No.1 - (2011) - 11 - 5 - 2 & - (2012) - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 = 23 Weeks at No.1. There are 2 further Albums to add to your 8 Weeks at No.1 List. They are - Beautiful World - Take That, (2006), and In The Lonely Hour - Sam Smith, (2014).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1443292966174170672.post-10419984520257579072015-05-23T10:33:00.723-05:002015-05-23T10:33:00.723-05:00Thanks! Rubb...Dave - There are several errors in this List. Rubber Soul, & The Beatles, (The White Album), should not be in the List at all. Neither spent 9 Weeks at No.1 in the UK. Both were actually 8 Week No.1's. Nor should ABBA Gold be in it, as that was an 8 Week No.1 also. And it did not get a 1993 release in the UK. It was a September 1992 release. You have spelt one ABBA Album as Super Trooper. It is actually Super Trouper. Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water has not been regarded as a 41 Week No.1 in the UK for at least a Decade. From February 6th March 27th 1971 there was a Postal Strike that stopped the UK Album Charts being compiled. To fill that 8 Week gap, we used to simply repeat the Chart of 30th January 1971 for 8 Weeks. That gave the S & G Album 8 extra No.1 Weeks. 41 No.1 Weeks in Total. In 2004 or so, it was decided not to do that any longer. We started to use the Melody Maker Album Charts to fill that 8 Week gap. Those Charts had All Things Must Pass by George Harrison, at No.1 for all 8 Weeks. So that became a UK No.1 Album, & the S & G Album had 8 No.1 Weeks removed - giving it 33 No.1 Weeks - not 41. 21 by Adele, was a UK No.1 for 23 Weeks - not 22. Since your List was compiled, you only need to add 2 Albums to up-date it to May 2015. They are X by Ed Sheeran, (2014), which was a UK No.1 for 12 Weeks. And Our Version Of Events, by Emily Sandé, (2012), which was a UK No.1 for 10 Weeks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
